The historic De Alberto Dorado wine stands as number one with 98 points and the 'excellent' category. From Alberto Pálido, it is ranked number 12 with 91 points and the rating of 'highly recommended' 

De Alberto Dorado Verdejo 100% DO Rueda from Bodegas De Alberto has been distinguished as the best Verdejo wine by Decanter magazine, being the only one qualified with a score of 98 points and the category of "exceptional" by the tasting panel published in the latest edition of the prestigious British magazine, a world reference in the wine sector. 

For the expert panelists Beth Willard, Sarah Jane Evans MW and Christine Parkinson, De Alberto Dorado, produced by the Gutiérrez family since the 1940s, stands out as an atypical Verdejo that embodies the tradition of generous wines in the DO Rueda, produced for centuries , and that competes in quality with the most famous generous wines of Andalusia. 

“With exceptional oxidative aromas of Jerez, like a wonderful aged amontillado”, describes Sarah Jane Evans the De Alberto Dorado, to which she attributes a rainbow of aromas, from red fruits and mandarins to toasted nuts. Christine Parkinson describes it as “deep amber in colour, rich in aromas of caramel, as well as coffee cream, dried oranges and toasted hazelnuts on the palate, very long and with a dry finish”. 

This historic wine, produced according to the traditional method by Bodegas Hijos de Alberto Gutiérrez for more than 70 years, is for Decanter the best rated Verdejo for its high quality and an example of the consistency and diversity of Verdejo wines with the Rueda Designation of Origin. 

This new distinction of "exceptional" with 98 points in the Decanter tasting panel adds to the important list of awards obtained by De Alberto Dorado, among which is the Platinum Medal at the 'Decanter World Wine Awards' for two consecutive years; the Great Gold Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles; the Great Gold Bacchus; the Great Gold Medal in Vinespaña; the 95 Guía Peñín Points or the 91 Parker Wine Advocate Points.
